How To Know You Are Entering Mood Shift

Many with bipolar disorder reveal that the hardest part is to notice when a mood shift is starting. Early signs are sometimes subtle like changes in sleep, energy, speech, thinking or small habits. Sometimes they just become clear after the shift is underway.

Anyone here can share their thoughts to make others understand how they recognize the beginning of a mood change or what early signals do you usually notice.

Some claims that faster speech, irritability, racing thoughts, trouble sleeping or feeling unusually tired are the symptoms. Others claim changes in spending, social behavior or appetite.

Sharing such early signs may help others to become more aware of their own particular patterns. Feel free to post whatever you have observed.

It can sometimes be challenging to detect changes in mood early, but these early signs are often exhibited through minor changes. For example, any sort of irregularity in sleep, restlessness, or racing thoughts are examples of an early indicator of a mood shift for me.
