Can Creativity Become a Good Help in Managing Schizophrenia

I usually wonder whether creativity can play a role in living with schizophrenia. Some say that activities like drawing, writing and playing music have helped them in expressing better. Others say that creative activities have helped them in calming down their mind.

I am really curious whether anyone here has used creativity with their coping or healing process. Help us to understand whether painting, journaling or making music has helped in managing symptoms or moods.

My personal observation is that even small creative things like writing thoughts can make a difference when mind feels saturated. However, I would love to hear what really works for others.

Does anyone here think that creativity can help in managing schizophrenia or is it a distraction?

Certainly, creativity serves as a calming and stabilizing tool. For many individuals, writing or painting becomes a refuge from the rapid fire pace of their thoughts and a way to express the unexpressed thoughts. While not a remedy, creativity can support emotional challenges by providing peace and comfort.
