Designing your ideal treatment plan? What to include?

Many feel that the current treatment are too generic and fails to consider unique biology and life circumstances of an individual. Medication helps with stability for some but also comes with side effects. The side effects usually affect energy, sleep or identity. Others find therapy useful. However, they wish it were more specialized to psychotic and mood symptoms.

Just imagine a tailor-made treatment. Just imagine the medication is tested on your biological sample. So, side effects could be predicted in advance. What if therapy could combine grounding techniques, trauma recovery, lifestyle adjustments and creative outlets?

People often report that the best improvements came from the clubbing of different strategies like medication, peer support, structured routines, creativity, exercise or nature therapy. However, it is true that access to such options is not always easy. Sometimes these are not even affordable.

What would it be if you are to design your mental health treatment plan from scratch? What has helped most so far? Let us discuss here what personalized care should look like.

A personalised approach to healthcare, as you have described, seems like a great way to think about how you can be effective, right? I find myself mixing and matching different combinations as I believe that no one particular approach will get me through my challenging times. I am able to function better when I have medication keeping my mood stable, but I also monitor my energy level because some medications interfere with my routine.
