Did Your Symptoms Change Over the Years

Do symptoms stay the same over time or changes in intensity or type? Many with schizophrenia say that their experience in the beginning is not the same what they currently deal with. Things become more manageable for some with treatment and experience. Others say that certain symptoms are reduced but new challenges appear like stronger negative symptoms or issues with motivation.

Some notice that early stages were more intense. The stages were like confusion, fear or trouble understanding about the happenings. Episodes might become less frequent over the years with medication and support. However, emotions, energy or cognition can still be affected. Others claim that stress triggers symptoms more now than before.

Do your coping strategies also evolve? Have medications or lifestyle changes helped in shifting the way symptoms appear? Please share your experiences if you are comfortable.

It’s interesting how symptoms can shift over time, right? A lot of people say the early phase felt the most confusing, and things slowly changed as they learned more about themselves and got the right support. Treatment, routines, and experience can make certain symptoms easier to handle, even though new challenges sometimes show up.
