Has anyone found nature or outdoor time helps with symptoms

Many talks about calming effect of nature. However, I have always wondered the way it works for those who are living with schizoaffective disorder. Stepping outside for me sometimes feels like taking a small break from my own mind. The fresh air and open space give a sense of grounding. Do understand that even a short walk can feel overwhelming on difficult days.

Some say that sunlight helps in regulating mood and particularly during depressive phases. Others find that movement clubbed with surrounding of trees helps in reducing racing thoughts. Yes, it is true. I too have noticed that certain environments feel safer than others. A quiet park helps while crowded places or noisy areas worsen symptoms.

I am really curious here to know how others feel. Is it that going outdoors have improved your clarity? Do you prefer quiet gardens, long walks or simply sitting on a balcony? Do share your experiences and views.

I understand exactly what you are saying. Nature may not heal everything, but just momentarily being outside in a peaceful atmosphere can sometimes feel like having a small "reset" switch.
