If you live with, or understand, Schizophrenia, your view of society and your own humanity may change over time. Living with Schizophrenia can create greater empathy, greater patience and increase your capacity to understand mental illness within others. Typically, once someone has experienced the "strength" behind someone else's vulnerability, they are capable of developing a deeper level of compassion for that person. Compassion, support and acceptance will become the foundation of a more humane society.
