Support organizations usually makes a huge difference for people living with schizoaffective disorder. They offer counselling, educational resources, peer support and even crisis intervention. Some such non-profit organizations are local while others operate online. They providing help even for such people who can’t leave home easily.

It is important to be aware of such organizations. This can provide a safety net and particularly during difficult times. Many organizations also run awareness campaigns to educate people, reduce stigma and encourage early intervention. If we know that there is a structured support system, or feeling of isolation is reduced.

Have you accessed any such non-profits or support groups? Which programs of their felt most useful and why is it so? Share here as this can turn up to be a good guide to others.

As I've said before, I've used multiple sources to learn how to cope during difficult times. Specifically, I found it really beneficial to be part of programs that provided both frequent opportunities for individuals to chat and easy access to resources regarding effective coping skills. Additionally, for those times when I needed a bit more privacy, I joined an online support group.
