Do you remember any specific moment when you realized that you really needed help? Some claims that they realized seeking help when symptoms became too hard to manage alone. The symptoms to note here are confusion, paranoia, hearing voices or suddenly feeling disconnected from reality. Others say that they looked for help when daily life started to break down like struggling at school or work, drifting away from friends and family.

Do note that recognizing the need for help is not a sign of weakness. In fact, it is often the first step toward getting better. Many people say that reaching out for support made a real difference.

Share here, if you are comfortable, a particular moment or situation when you looked for help. Your story may help others who are not very sure whether they should reach out. Thank you.

I'd lost control over my daily activities and my thoughts were racing uncontrollably. I could no longer be in denial and put on a brave face. Although contacting someone for support frightened me, it provided me with a comfortable sense of relief. I learnt from this experience that I cannot sole manage everything on my own.
